Weight Loss Plateaus
When losing weight, it's common to hit plateaus. These are times when you can't seem to lose any more weight even though you're still sticking to your plan. It's normal.

Your body is getting used to your routine and trying to maintain a certain weight or "set point."
Don't worry, you can get past it.
Here are some proven ways to deal with a weight loss plateau:
Hang in there
If you're burning more calories than you take in, you'll see some weight loss. You may still be losing weight but it's too small to register on the scales yet.
Calorie creep
Has your calorie intake gone up? Make sure your portion sizes haven't increased and your calorie counting is correct.
Move more often
Ramp up the number of minutes you're active per week.
Step it up
Our bodies get used to exercise programs and learn to do them while burning fewer calories. You may need to step it up. Try something new or harder. Try different activities to work other muscles.
If you aren't sure, check with your provider about a new exercise program.
Get strong
Muscles are very good at burning calories. Regular muscle-strengthening, including heavy gardening and weightlifting, will give your weight loss a boost.
Reboot your motivation
Recall your reasons for losing weight. Also, ask friends and family for support.
Do any of these ideas help? If so, that's great!
Goal of the day
Change things up a bit to see if you get better results in the weeks to come!
You can also ask your provider or care manager for advice. Your provider can rule out any conditions that prevent you from losing weight. They can also give you advice about other ways to lose weight.
Feel free to send your care manager a message.
