Sweet Suggestions
Lots of us have a sweet tooth. It's so hard to resist dessert!
Too much sugar will make you gain weight. But trying to cut out all sweets might just get in the way of your weight loss success.
What can you do when you have sugar cravings?
Eat fruit after dinner
Eat at least 1 serving of fresh fruit after dinner, so that you aren't reaching for rich desserts.
Fruit desserts
Frozen grapes or half of a frozen chocolate-dipped banana.
Chocolate-dipped or yogurt-dipped fruits (berries, apples, or banana).
Baked apple or pear.
Make a mini version of your favorite dessert
Enjoy just a bite or two and save on calories. Chew slowly and stick to your plan. Try baking these desserts in muffin tins and freezing them. If making a mini version is hard to do, then simply share it with someone.
