When you cough, the muscle you feel is your abdominal muscle. Focus on keeping this muscle in use while doing core exercises.
Every body movement involves your core. Try out this core exercise today.
Quadruped
Start on your hands and knees with your hands directly below your shoulders and your head and neck aligned with your back.
Cough and hold your abdominals tight.
Raise one arm off the floor and reach straight ahead. Hold for 3 deep breaths.
Return your arm and raise your other arm. Hold for 3 deep breaths.
Repeat the exercise by raising each leg and hold for 3 breaths. Make sure you tighten your stomach muscles each time.
Challenge!
Raise one arm and the opposite leg together. Avoid rolling your pelvis.
Center your hips and tighten your trunk muscles for balance.
Hold for 3 deep breaths.
Do this on both sides.
